Crème, then powder—that's the Patrick Ta way. While we always love a new launch from our favorites, there's something to be said for digging into a fresh color range of a product you already love. And now, there are four new ways to appreciate Major Beauty Double-Take Powder Blush.

"For 2025, I wanted to create a new era of blush," Ta tells Byrdie of the launch. "I really think we’re going to be seeing a new wave of color that we haven’t seen just yet. I’m obsessed with the idea of playing with unexpected shades, and new application techniques that allow you to use blush to embrace every version of you. Whether it’s with a natural flush or something bold, for me blush is going to play an even bigger role in beauty looks."

Launching January 14, the new shades encompass some of Ta's very favorite trends from the recent present and near future. Ahead, discover everything you need to know about the range, and our honest reviews.

The Shades

"With this new collection, I'm creating a color story that allows you to step out of your comfort zone, but also embrace it," explains Ta. "I wanted to create blush that breaks the ordinary, like nothing you have in your collection. You won’t see your typical peach or pink shades, but instead four unique color worlds."

These new shades include a nod to Pantone's Color of the Year (the rich mocha She Knows Who She Is, described as "a rich berry brown grounded in depth and dimension") and the perfect post-workout flush (She Goes to the Gym, a cool mauve rose). The warm, rosy beige She's Seductive is "an understated shade that softly seduced" and She Left Me on Red is a warm, vivid red.

"One shade that instantly stands out that I’m so excited about is She Left Me On Red," says Ta. "I wanted a blush that commands attention and this really is a power blush for anyone who wears it. The shade is made with three red pigments for a flush of color that when applied correctly, suits everyone in such a unique, beautiful and bold way."

Ta says that She Goes to the Gym was inspired by the sporty "tomboy" or "boyfriend blush" trend, which he thinks will only get bigger into 2025. "It’s a cool mauve rose that gives the appearance of a post-workout glow where your complexion is beaming," he explains. "No gym required, this mauve shade does it for you."

She's Seductive exemplifies one of Ta's biggest predictions for this year: "I’m really expecting more of us to lean into is comfortability when it comes to makeup," he says. "Playing with makeup in a subtle way and using products that allow your natural radiance to shine through. She’s Seductive is a subtle, barely-there blush that gives a kiss of color to the cheeks. It’s a warm rosy beige that to me, romanticizes blush in a sultry way."

Finally, there's the rich berry brown, She Knows Who She Is. "It’s a bit of chameleon on the skin, it can lean a bit more brown or berry. It’s such a strong shade that’s rich and radiant. To me it inspires confidence. Brown had a moment in 2024, but I’m expecting this to be even bigger in 2025."

The Formula

In case you still haven't gotten your hands on these more-than-viral duos, here's what to know. Both the cream and powder in your compact feature rich pigments that blend together for a long-wearing, skin-like finish.

Patented biomimetic pigments mirror the skin's ceramide structure to ensure adhesion, a true color experience, and the most natural finish on your skin while micronized pigments provide an even, flawless payoff. You're probably used to applying cream first, then powder to set, but consider giving Ta's signature method a try: apply the powder first, then the cream for a dewy glow that stays all day.

"In the dead of New York City winter, a hint of color on my cheeks tends to really pull its weight in helping me look alive. These new Patrick Ta blush shades more than deliver in the pigment department, and I found She Goes to the Gym—a deep rosy hue—to create the ideal “cold girl” flush (or way to fake a New Year’s workout resolution, if that’s your jam). I’m always a fan of the brand’s signature dual formulas in creating a lasting finish, and this one is no different. Using the dual-ended precision blush brush, I applied the cream formula first before using the powder to enhance and set, and the result is both noticeable and incredibly wearable."

""Look, Major Headlines is meant for us proud Blush Blindness girlies. I'm sure one can go in with a light hand for a softer look, but in my opinion, why would you? The pigments are next-level and the smooth powder and cream formulas layer beautifully. As a 'the bolder the better' girlie, I went all in and selected the shade She Left Me on Red, a bright true red that leans a little warm. It reminds me of something Naomi Campbell would wear in the '90s, or Grace Jones in the '80s—in other words, a total showstopper."

"I usually like a cool pink in the winter, but my complexion has been looking particularly lifeless lately, so I decided to put the 'blonzing' trend to the test. She's Seductive was the perfect shade for the job. As with all the Patrick Ta blushes, it's super pigmented, and a little went a long way in terms of warming up my complexion—I usually pile on layers of blush, but I actually had to tone down my application with a Beautyblender and some concealer. That being said, the results were so pretty, and I love the glowy finish of the cream formula. I'll def be adding the shade to my rotation for days when I would rather be on a beach."

"I opted to try the shade She Goes to the Gym, a cool mauve rose tone. For this look, I used the powder blush. Since this blush is super pigmented, I gently tapped my brush into the pan to pick up a light amount. The formula is incredibly fine and silky, making it easy to blend. A light dusting of blush is all I needed to enhance my cheeks, as you can see. The finished look is vibrant but wearable enough for everyday. Needless to say, after testing this blush for the past few week, I can see myself reaching for this duo palette often.
